Built from dense fields of hand-drawn stippling, these forms sit somewhere between explosions, portals, pools, and interruptions. Red, green, and black turn each shape into its own strange little environment. The series continues my interest in the meeting of graphic simplicity and obsessive mark making. From a distance, the forms are immediate and cartoon-like. Not a mistake. Up close, they reveal thousands of individual dots, swerves, and curves. Humor and mystery coexist, and something explosive becomes an invitation to enter.
